Team Tieu’s Michael Pham, Ryan Li and Thai Hoang are all set to compete on MTGP’s biggest event to date featuring Lion Fight 39 in London. The date is Saturday November 18th at London’s Indigo O2 arena and the card is huge! Be sure not to miss London’s biggest Muay Thai event end of the year.
The following three bouts are part of a heavy presence from the London Tieu camp, and these crowd pleasers face well matched opposition in front of them.
Michael Pham V John Scott
A great clash for the fans as Team Tieu’s Michael Pham makes his return to the ring for the first time since defeating Shane O’Neill for the ISKA European title.
Pham once again faces Irish opposition in John Scott out of Origins gym in Dublin. If Pham’s last fight vs O’Neill is anything to go by we are in for a treat.
Both fighters are well matched and have healthy records going into the fight on November 18th. Will Scott show the tough resilience that the Irish are known for and get a victory in his first MTGP appearance or will fan favourite Pham continue his excellent run of form and come away with the win his first fight back since lay off?
Ryan Li V Liam McKendry
This world title fight is between the UK #2 ranked fighter and UK #3 ranked fighter with the winner facing UK #1 Dan Edwards in the new year.
Ryan The Lion Li fighting out of Team Tieu gym is a very exciting fighter who always brings his A game. He has put on some great displays at previous MTGP shows. The tall and rangy fighter will be looking to put on yet another high class performance on November 18th.
Facing him is young fighter Liam McKendry. He fights out of the MMAG gym in Scotland and has a very experienced career for a man of only 23 years having spent a lot of time in Thailand training and competing. He will be looking to show the London crowd what he’s made of and is willing to do everything in his power to take this MTGP belt.
Will Li continue to be the fan favourite and become the new MTGP World Champion or will McKendry get a big win and put his name in the hat for some top showdowns?
Thai Hoang V Shaquille Davies
This match up will be fought under B Class Muay Thai rules. Team Tieu’s Thai Hoang will be looking for a big win on one of the worlds top Muay Thai promotions. He is a very technical fighter and has 9 wins to his name.
Shaquille Davies of the Jackapong gym is another young and hungry fighter looking to stamp his mark at Lion Fight/MTGP. With only one additional win to his opponent, this contest is very much evenly matched.
These two young men are both in this to win and would like to do so in impressive fashion. Make sure you are there to witness it!
